Florida International Universityمعرفی
Dr. Damiano Angoli is a Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Florida International University. His research focuses on the biophysics of ion channels and transporters, with a particular emphasis on electrophysiological techniques applied to neurovascular, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems physiology. He leads the Vascular Physiology and Biotransport laboratory and has collaborated extensively with the private sector on drug discovery initiatives, including validating amino acid formulations for epithelial dysfunction treatments.
Education:
- B.S. and Master in Biology from the University of Milan, Italy
- Ph.D. in Translational and Experimental Medicine from the University of Insubria, Italy (2018)
Research Interests: Angoli’s work bridges basic science and translational medicine. Key areas include ion channel dysfunction in disease states, electrophysiological monitoring systems for rodent models, and the development of novel therapeutic strategies targeting epithelial and smooth muscle physiology. His lab employs advanced electrophysiological techniques and integrates experimental models with industrial partnerships.
Publications: Over 13 peer-reviewed articles since 1996, spanning ion channel biology, cardiac electrophysiology, and drug discovery. Recent work emphasizes cytokine-altered epithelial ion transport and urodynamic monitoring systems.
Labs & Teams: Directs the Vascular Physiology and Biotransport lab, focusing on neurovascular coupling applications and translational biophysics.
