Professor Dale Pinto is a distinguished academic and tax law expert at Curtin Law School, Curtin University. He holds the title of John Curtin Distinguished Professor and serves as Chair of the Curtin University Academic Board and member of the University Council. His expertise spans International Tax, Superannuation, Electronic Commerce, Tax Administration, and Academic Governance. He has authored/co-authored numerous publications and sits on prestigious boards such as the ATO’s Public Guidance and Advice Panel and CPA Australia’s Board.
Education: PhD (Law) from Melbourne University, MTax (Hons) from Sydney University, PGradDipBus (Distinction) and BBus (Distinction) from Curtin University.
Research focuses on international tax policy, digital economy taxation, and tax administration reforms. His recent work addresses challenges in taxing e-commerce and corporate residence rules. He has received significant recognition including the ATTA Medal and Fellowship in the Australian Academy of Law.
Professional roles include membership in over 15 professional bodies such as CPA Australia, Tax Institute, and International Fiscal Association. He has led major initiatives like establishing the Curtin Law School and contributed to national tax policy through advisory roles on the Board of Taxation and Tax Practitioners Board.
