Dag Lorents Aksnes

Dag Lorents Aksnes is a Professor at the University of Bergen since 1992, affiliated with the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences. He has held significant administrative roles including Dean (2001–2005) and Vice Dean (1999–2001) at the University of Bergen.

• Research Focus: Biological oceanography, marine ecosystems, ecological modeling, and plankton population dynamics

His work spans light dynamics in marine systems, nutrient cycling, and theoretical models of aquatic feeding and productivity. He has led over 10 externally funded projects exceeding 1 million NOK and coordinated EU Large Scale Facility initiatives, enabling global marine research collaboration.
