Dafydd Fell is Professor of Comparative Politics at the Department of Politics and International Studies, School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London. He directs the SOAS Centre of Taiwan Studies and co-founded the European Association of Taiwan Studies in 2004. His research focuses on Taiwanese political parties, electoral politics, social movements, and democratisation. He has authored four single-authored books including Party Politics in Taiwan (2005), Government and Politics in Taiwan (2011/2018), and Taiwan's Green Parties (2021). He also edited multiple volumes such as Taiwan Studies Revisited (2019) and Taiwan's Contemporary Indigenous Peoples (2021).

His 2024 work examines movement parties' learning processes and alternative politics in Taiwan.
