Cyrus Console-Soican is a Professor of Creative Writing at the Kansas City Art Institute. He holds a B.S. in organismal biology from the University of Kansas, an M.F.A. in writing from Bard College’s Milton Avery Graduate School of Arts, and a Ph.D. in literature and creative writing from the University of Kansas. His work bridges scientific inquiry with poetic expression, focusing on interdisciplinary narratives and experimental forms.

Recent poetry appears in prestigious journals such as Brick, Harper’s, and The Paris Review. His upcoming 2024 collection The Wayfarer explores themes of migration and existential displacement. His research emphasizes the intersection of cultural memory, environmental poetics, and transnational identity.
