Cynthia M. Rand

Cynthia M. Rand is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics, General Pediatrics at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry. She is a general pediatrician and health services researcher specializing in adolescent preventive care, immunization delivery, quality improvement, and health informatics.

Dr. Rand co-directs the Academic General Pediatrics Fellowship and leads the Immunization Lab. Her research focuses on eliminating vaccine-preventable diseases through interventions like provider training, reminder systems, and school-based programs. Current projects include SAVE (school-based influenza and HPV vaccination), VAX-MOM (maternal vaccination improvement), and Stand Up 2 HPV (standing orders and communication training).

Recent publications highlight her work on HPV vaccination strategies, maternal vaccine hesitancy, and telemedicine applications. Key collaborators include Peter G. Szilagyi and Sharon Humiston.
