Dr. Kenneth Bromberg is a Professor of Pediatrics and Medicine at the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center, the only academic medical center in Brooklyn. He serves as an Educational Consultant to the Office of Academic Affairs and is actively involved in immunization policy development, including roles as the local American Academy of Pediatrics immunization representative and member of the NYC Childhood Immunization Coalition, DOH Vaccine Advisory Committee, and CDC General Best Practices on Immunization working group.
His research focuses on vaccinology, pediatric infectious diseases, and congenital infections. Key projects include evaluating vaccine immunogenicity, improving immunization delivery systems, and studying maternal-infant immunity dynamics. His work spans Bordetella pertussis, congenital syphilis, and HPV vaccine advocacy.
Dr. Bromberg's publications (15 most recent) highlight trends in infectious disease prevention, vaccine safety, and diagnostic methodologies. Notable topics include maternal-fetal measles immunity, Tdap revaccination in adults, congenital syphilis detection, and carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae screening in maternal populations.
He trained at SUNY Stonybrook (BS), State University of New York at Buffalo (MD), and completed residency at The NY Hospital-Cornell Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in Pediatric and Adult Infectious Diseases at Brown University.
