Dr. Cynthia Bland is a Professor in the Visual & Performing Arts Department at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, housed within the College of Arts & Human Sciences. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Art History from the University of Iowa, as well as a B.A. in Art History and Theology from the University of St. Thomas.
Her research focuses on Romanticism, with special emphasis on Eugene Delacroix and George Sand. Teaching interests include Art and Controversy, Modern and 19th-century Art, Art Since 1950, and Japanese Art. Dr. Bland’s work bridges historical analysis with contemporary discourse in visual culture.
