Dr. Cylcia Bolibaugh is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Education, University of York, specializing in Second Language Acquisition and Applied Linguistics. Since joining in 2014, she has taught modules including Intercultural Communication, Second Language Acquisition, and TESOL Methods.
- PhD in Second Language Acquisition, University of Surrey
- BA in Peace and Conflict Studies, University of California at Berkeley (cum laude)
- MA in Applied Linguistics and ELT, University of Maastricht (distinction)
Research Focus: Her work investigates the cognitive and social processes behind formulaic language use, with emphasis on incidental learning, corpus analysis, and probabilistic lexical patterns in instructed/naturalistic language acquisition contexts. She actively explores open research practices and data sharing frameworks.
Key Contributions: Led IRIS project (British Academy-funded) for developing open research tools in language studies. Co-developed OASIS project for open dissemination of applied linguistics findings.

External Activities: Regular conference participant at EuroSLA, BAAL, and GURT workshops.
