Curtis K. Chan is an Assistant Professor of Management and Organization at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management. He holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Harvard University, alongside MA in Sociology and BA in Social Anthropology from Harvard College. His research focuses on workplace challenges, occupational control, diversity, and worker experiences, employing qualitative field studies. Notable research includes studies on TSA screeners, Instacart gig-workers, and Finnish educators, published in top journals like Administrative Science Quarterly and Organization Science.
Chan has received awards such as the ASQ Scholarly Contribution Award (2022), the Saroj Parasuraman Award (2016), and the Poets&Quants Top 50 Undergraduate Professors (2020). He serves on editorial boards for Administrative Science Quarterly and Organization Science.
His teaching includes Organizational Behavior, recognized with Boston College’s Teaching Star distinction. He will join the University of Alberta as Associate Professor in 2025.
