Crystal Oliver is a Senior Lecturer of English and Adjunct Professor of Music at St. Mary's College of Maryland. She serves as Director of the Chesapeake Writers' Conference and Editor-in-Chief of the EcoTheo Review. Her expertise spans creative writing, the poetics of song, and feminist/multicultural literary critiques of music, magic, and addiction. She holds an M.F.A. in Poetry from Brooklyn College.
Oliver's research focuses on literary citizenship as community service, professional literacy, and popular music songwriting. She has published in journals like Bluestem, The Brooklyn Review, and Southern Maryland: This Is Living. Her teaching experience includes roles at Pratt Institute, CUNY, and Brooklyn College.
