Dr. Cristina Saenz Perez is a Lecturer in Law at the University of Leeds' School of Law (Faculty of Social Sciences), joining in September 2021. Previously, she held positions at the University of Lincoln (2020–2021) and the University of Leicester's Centre for European Law and Internationalisation (2016–2020). She earned a PhD in EU Criminal Law from the University of Leicester (2020), an LLM in International Criminal Justice from the University of Turin, and dual degrees (LLB and BBA) from the University of Valencia.
Her research focuses on EU criminal law, Brexit's security implications, international police cooperation (especially e-evidence exchange), and Europe's multi-level security governance. She teaches international law and criminal justice at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
Professional memberships include the European Criminal Law Academic Network (ECLAN) and the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI). As a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, she emphasizes academic excellence in teaching. She contributes to the Centre for Criminal Justice Studies and supervises PhD students exploring topics aligned with her research interests.
