Cristina M. Balboa is an Associate Professor at the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs, Baruch College, CUNY and Director of the Center for Nonprofit Strategy and Management. Her research bridges international relations, comparative policy, and organizational theory to analyze how NGOs' internal structures influence their external accountability and efficacy. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Governance from Yale University and has over a decade of nonprofit experience in environmental issues across Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific.

She chairs ARNOVA's diversity committee and founded the Global Issues/Transnational Actors interest group.
