Craig McCosker serves as a Visiting Researcher at the ARC Centre of Excellence for Automated Decision-Making and Society (ADM+S), hosted by Queensland University of Technology (QUT). His research focuses on Artificial Intelligence, Digital Journalism, and Media Innovation, with specific expertise in Conversational AI and News Technology. McCosker has developed groundbreaking applications including live blogging, data journalism, interactive maps, podcasts, push notifications, and AI-based platforms like ABC News on Facebook Messenger—which gained international acclaim as a leading news bot—and subsequent voice-activated services for ABC Emergency, ABC Kids, ABC iView, and radio stations. He emphasizes that anticipating technological shifts requires research, immersion, experimentation, and relentless effort rather than mere instinct.
