Craig John Alimo, Ph.D., serves as Director for Social Justice Education at San José State University’s Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. With over 25 years in social justice education, he previously held roles at Napa Valley College and the University of California, Berkeley, focusing on campus climate initiatives, diversity programming, and intergroup dialogue. Alimo earned a Ph.D. in Education (College Student Personnel Administration) from the University of Maryland, complemented by advanced certifications in social justice education and civil rights investigation.
His research emphasizes intergroup dialogue, white racial ally development, and multicultural program effectiveness. He has pioneered initiatives like the MOSAIC Diversity & Leadership retreat and contributed to national studies on intergroup relations.
