Coy Callison is a Professor and Associate Dean for Graduate Studies & Research at the College of Media and Communication at Texas Tech University. He holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Public Relations from the University of Alabama (2000 and 1998). His research focuses on strategic communication in science, environmental issues, and crisis management, particularly regarding water scarcity’s impact on agricultural producers and craft beer industry dynamics. He teaches quantitative methods, experimental research, and data analysis.

Research Interests: Science communication, environmental communication, crisis/risk communication, water scarcity, agricultural communication, and craft beer industry strategies. He explores how audiences select, recall, and act on information from mediated sources. Recent work includes funded studies on Texas water policy equity and craft beer’s water-intensive processes.
