Jody Roginson is an Associate Professor in the MCOM Area of Sports Communication at Texas Tech University's College of Media & Communication. She holds an M.S. in Instructional Design & Technology from California State University, Fullerton. Her teaching focuses on strategic communication, digital media production, and sports-related coursework at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
Research interests emphasize crisis communication, sports media strategies, and digital storytelling. Her career spans over 35 years in sports administration, PR, and instructional design, including roles as internal communications director for Texas Tech Athletics (2005–2012) and owner of a PR/creative agency specializing in sports publications and workshops.
- Awards: Recipient of the 2019 L.U. Kaiser Teaching Innovation Award and TLPDC Spotlight Award.
- Leadership: Faculty fellow for digital storytelling (2018–2023) and service learning for Team USA experiences.
- Advising: Mentors undergraduate sports media and graduate sports communication students.
Professional experience includes roles at Human Kinetics Publishing, Anaheim Stadium (1984–1996), and event management for high-profile events like the 1989 MLB All-Star Game.
