Cornelius Schneider is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Economics, University of Mannheim, and manages the mLab. He holds a PhD from the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods (Bonn) in collaboration with the University of Cologne.
His research focuses on optimal taxation and public economics, employing experimental and behavioral economics methods. Key themes include the welfare implications of tax evasion, the role of personal preferences in tax policy, and the impact of government restrictions on altruism. Recent work explores green investment drivers and property rights allocation.
He was awarded the DAAD Prime fellowship for his research on tax evasion and served as a visiting researcher at the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH). His publications address diverse topics such as:
