Corinne Pontillo is a Research Fellow in Literary Criticism and Comparative Literature (SSD L-FIL-LET/14) at the Department of Humanities of the University of Catania. She is part of the PRIN 2017 project Divagrafie. For a mapping of Italian actresses who write, led by Scientific Director Maria Rizzarelli, alongside collaborators Lucia Cardone and Anna Masecchia.
- Education: PhD in Cultural Heritage Studies (2018); Master’s thesis on Of Light and Death. Pier Paolo Pasolini and Photography, awarded the Pasolini Prize (2014).
Her research focuses on contemporary Italian literature, its intersections with visual arts, and relationships between literature and journalism. She examines performative writing and visual culture, particularly in works by actresses like Elsa de' Giorgi. Her publications include three monographs: Of Light and Death. Pier Paolo Pasolini and Photography (2015), Vittorini's 'Il Politecnico': Project and History of a Visual Narration (2020), and Paper Museums: Exhibitions and Art Collections in Contemporary Literature (2022, forthcoming).
In 2021, she obtained the National Scientific Qualification (ASN) for the competitive sector 10/F2 (Contemporary Italian Literature). She has served as Senior Tutor (2019–2021) and Contract Professor (2021–2023) of Comparative Literature at the University for Foreigners 'Dante Alighieri' in Reggio Calabria.

- Pasolini Prize (2014), awarded by the Pasolini Study Centre-Archive of the Cineteca di Bologna.
Since 2012, she has been part of the editorial staff of the journal Arabeschi, contributing to academic discourse in her fields.
