Alessandro Brunazzo is a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Oslo’s Department of Literature, Area Studies and European Languages. His current project, 'That Sinking Feeling,' examines land subsidence in Italy’s Po Delta through environmental humanities and ecocritical lenses. He holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from Yale University and previously taught as an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University (Florence) and the University of Virginia (Siena).
His research bridges film theory, postcolonial studies, and affect theory. Notable projects include exploring Pier Paolo Pasolini’s legacy in Global South cinema and analyzing intersections of ecology and media in river delta regions. He is developing a monograph titled Double Exposures: Pasolini and the Global South/The Global South and Pasolini.
Key interests include environmental humanities, ecocriticism, Italian transnational cinema, and blue humanities. He actively contributes to the EcoLit research group at UiO.
