Andrew Korn is a Lecturer in Italian at the University of Rochester, specializing in teaching Italian language, literature, and cinema. He holds a B.A. from the University of Rochester and M.A./Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on 20th-century Italian literature and cinema, revolution themes, and male bonds in cultural contexts.
He has taught courses like ITAL 101/102 (Elementary Italian), ITAL 151/152 (Intermediate Italian), and specialized courses on Pier Paolo Pasolini, postwar Italian directors (Fellini, Antonioni, Cavani), and Italian neorealism.
His research interests include close analyses of Italian cultural figures like Liliana Cavani, Marco Berger, and Pier Paolo Pasolini, with a focus on critical theory and transmedial/transcultural studies. Current projects include a book on Pasolini's theater.
His published works explore Pasolini's poetry, Cavani's films, male intimacy in modern cinema, and Antonioni's visual philosophy. He has received grants from the NEMLA, Center for Italian Studies, and Penn Humanities Forum.
