Francesca Tomassini

Francesca Tomassini is an Associate Professor in Contemporary Italian Literature (ASN qualification) affiliated with multiple institutions, including Roma Tre University and Sapienza University of Rome. Her research focuses on 20th-century Italian literature, theater, and female cultural elites, with notable projects on Luigi Pirandello and Pier Paolo Pasolini. She has held research grants at Sapienza (2022–2023) and Roma Tre (2015–2020), and contributes to the National Edition of Pirandello’s Complete Works.

Education includes a PhD in Italian Studies (Roma Tre, 2014), a Master’s (Roma Tre, 2010), and a Bachelor’s (Roma Tre, 2007). She has taught at Roma Tre and UNINT’s Faculty of Interpreting and Translation. Professional roles include editorial board membership for Scaffale Aperto and the Galathea series, and participation in research groups on topics like food culture in dictatorships and Carducci’s literary legacy.

Her edited works include La vita nuda (2021) and Dal naso al cielo (2022). She is a member of academic societies ADI and MOD, and contributed entries to the Biographical Dictionary of Italians.
