Cori Simon is an Assistant Professor of U.S. History at the University of Oklahoma's Department of History, specializing in Native North America, the U.S. West, race, ethnicity, and Indigeneity in the nineteenth century. She teaches courses on Native American History, the U.S. West, the nineteenth century, and Oklahoma History.

Her research focuses on the contested history of Indian Territory as a site of Native sovereignty and diverse geopolitical imaginings. She is currently working on a book manuscript analyzing the territory's creation and its implications for Native peoples' roles in U.S. history.
Professor Simon's work bridges themes of colonialism, Indigenous agency, and the evolution of the American West. Her teaching emphasizes regional history and marginalized perspectives in national narratives.
