Connie Barroso Garcia

Dr. Connie Barroso (Garcia) is an Assistant Professor of Developmental Sciences in the Department of Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University, affiliated with the School of Education and Human Development. She holds a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology from Florida State University (2020), along with an M.S. (2016) and B.S. (2013) in Psychology from the same institution.

Her research focuses on understanding how beliefs, emotions, and attitudes toward mathematics influence STEM career pathways and academic achievement. Key areas include math anxiety, mindset theories, and career aspirations in children and adolescents. She directs the BEAM Research Lab, aimed at improving math-related educational outcomes through empirical studies.
