Connie Barroso

Dr. Connie Barroso is an Assistant Professor of Developmental Sciences in the Department of Educational Psychology at Texas A&M University. She directs the BEAM Research Lab, investigating beliefs, emotions, and attitudes in mathematics cognition and STEM career pathways.

Education: Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology (Florida State University, 2020), M.S. in Learning and Cognition (Florida State University, 2016), B.S. in Psychology (Florida State University, 2013)

Research: Focuses on developmental trajectories of math-related affective factors from middle childhood through young adulthood. Specializes in improving educational outcomes through understanding emotional and cognitive mechanisms in STEM learning, with emphasis on anxiety reduction and mindset interventions.
