Con Stavros is a Professor of Marketing and Deputy Dean (Learning & Teaching) at RMIT University’s School of Economics, Finance & Marketing. He specializes in contemporary marketing practices, particularly in sport and digital media, with a focus on consumer behavior and brand management. His leadership drives initiatives in online education and international partnerships.
Research interests include sport marketing, social media engagement, and the intersection of technology with consumption. Co-author of the leading textbook Introduction to Sport Marketing, he has published extensively on topics like athlete transgressions, fan engagement, and alcohol policy in sport. His work bridges academia and industry, with grants from bodies like VicHealth and ASIC.
Awarded RMIT’s media ‘Hall of Fame’ and multiple ‘Overall Media Star’ accolades, he is a prominent commentator on marketing issues, appearing regularly on media platforms like 3AW Radio. Internationally, he served as Visiting Professor at IESEG School of Management (France) and is a Visiting Fellow at Loughborough University London.
His teaching spans marketing communication, sport marketing, and qualitative research methods. Supervised PhD topics include online brand communities and athlete recruitment strategies. Committed to industry collaboration, he advises brands and governments on strategic planning and marketing practices.
