Colleen Morrissey is a Lecturer and Academic Program Associate at the University of Kansas. Previously, she taught at the Columbus College of Art and Design and served as Head of the Valparaiso University Writing Center. She holds a B.A. in English from the University of Iowa, an M.A. in English from the University of Kansas, and a Ph.D. from Ohio State University.
Her research interests include literature and culture, narrative art, women writers, digital media, and media history. Her work appears in scholarly outlets such as Studies in the Novel, The Chicago Reader, and BitchMedia, alongside creative contributions to journals like The Southern Review and Alaska Quarterly Review.
Awarded the O. Henry Prize in 2014 and recognized by Best American Short Stories, Morrissey’s creative and critical writing spans prose, poetry, and literary criticism. She maintains an active profile in academic and creative writing circles, with a focus on interdisciplinary exploration of media and narrative forms.
