Colleen Michaels is the Director of the Writing Studio and a faculty member in the Liberal Arts department at Montserrat College of Art. She has been with the institution since 2001, focusing on fostering connections between visual arts and written expression. Her creative work includes the poetry collection Prize Wheel (2023) and commissioned installations for venues like The Massachusetts Poetry Festival and The Peabody Essex Museum. She leads the Improbable Places Poetry Tour, bringing poetry to unconventional spaces such as tattoo parlors and swimming pools. She holds a B.A. in English from SUNY Buffalo and an M.A. in English from SUNY Fredonia.
