Colleen Kim Daniher is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at Wilfrid Laurier University, with faculty affiliations to the Cultural Studies and Cultural Analysis and Social Theory (CAST) programs. Her academic background includes a PhD in Performance Studies from Northwestern University, an MA in Theatre Studies from the University of Guelph, and concurrent undergraduate degrees in English and Music from Western University.

Dr. Daniher's research focuses on the intersection of race, gender, and nation through performance practices spanning the 19th century to the present, with a geographic scope covering Asia and the Americas. Her work critically examines colonial cartographies in popular American entertainment, particularly through the lens of mixed-raced femme performers.
She has received prestigious fellowships from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the American Society for Theatre Research. Her scholarship appears in journals such as Theatre Journal, Women & Performance, and Modern Drama, and she co-edited a special issue on 'Race and Performance in the US-Canada Borderlands' in Theatre Research in Canada.
Dr. Daniher integrates performance practice and theory in her teaching and creative work, drawing from her training in classical music (Voice), musical theatre, devised theatre dramaturgy, and multimedia solo performance art.
