Colleen Mallette is a Professor in the Master of Liberal Arts program at Texas Christian University, teaching courses in Classical Music in Film and Music as Protest since 2020. A classically trained comedic soprano and author, she holds performance degrees from Hardin-Simmons University and the University of North Texas. Her artistic research explores the intersection of vocal performance and humor, notably through her signature piece The Lamaze School of Singing presents: How to Birth a Song which premiered at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Mallette's creative scholarship includes the book The Next Act: A Handbook for Graduating from Arts or Life and performance research on musical protest forms. She received the 'Best in Week' award at Austin's HYDE PARK THEATRE Frontera Fest for her innovative performance work. Her international performances span Hungary, Scotland, and Canada.
