Colleen Croniger is an Associate Professor at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, with dual appointments in the Department of Nutrition and Department of Genetics and Genome Sciences. As Assistant Dean for Basic Science Education, she focuses on innovative medical curriculum development and metabolic research.
- PhD in Molecular Biology (Case Western Reserve University, 1991)
- BA in Biology (Ursuline College, 1984)
Her research investigates liver metabolism in obesity and alcohol-induced injury, particularly the role of macrophage Pck1 gene deletion in altering gut microbiota and TMA/TMAO production. Recent work explores metabolic cross-talk between immune cells and organ systems.
