Roles & Affiliations: Danny Manor is a Professor in the Departments of Nutrition and Pharmacology at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine, and serves as Vice Chair of the Department of Nutrition. He holds additional roles as a Member of the Molecular Oncology Program at the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Education: Ph.D. in Anatomy, Structural Biology & Biophysics from Albert Einstein College of Medicine (1989); B.Sc. in Biochemistry from Tel Aviv University (1982).
Research Focus: Dr. Manor’s research centers on growth factor signaling pathways, particularly those involving Rho GTPases and Dbl family guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs). His work explores the molecular mechanisms underlying aberrant cell functions in cancer and other diseases. A major emphasis is on vitamin E’s role in health and disease, including its effects on reactive oxygen species, neurodegeneration, and metabolic disorders. His interdisciplinary approach integrates molecular/cell biology, biophysics, synthetic chemistry, and microscopy, with translational collaborations in clinical research.
Grants & Funding: Recent grants include NIH/NCI R21 CA254968 (2021–2023) for targeting Tiam1 in cancer and NIH/NIDDK R01 DK125115 (2021–2026) investigating vitamin E and the tocopherol transfer protein.
Labs & Teams: Leads the Manor Lab, which focuses on signal transduction, vitamin E mechanisms, and cancer biology. Collaborates with epidemiologists, geneticists, and clinicians to bridge basic and translational research.
