Colette Fegan is a Senior Lecturer and academic delivery manager for health courses at Sheffield Hallam University’s College of Health, Wellbeing and Life Sciences. She teaches on the MSc Vocational Rehabilitation and oversees work-based learning modules. Her clinical background focuses on mental health, particularly supporting adults with severe and enduring mental health conditions and their families. She is currently pursuing a PhD exploring the impact of volunteering on mental health service users’ recovery, employing constructivist grounded theory methodology.
Her research interests include mental health care integration, behavioral change techniques, and healthcare team dynamics. She has contributed to interdisciplinary projects such as the Health Innovation and Education Cluster’s e-module on behavioral change and led the development of a self-assessment tool for the Prevention and Lifestyle Behaviour Change Competence Framework. Her work emphasizes practical applications of technology in healthcare, including virtual home assessment tools and telehealth solutions.
Dr. Fegan’s publications span mental health outcomes in oncology, telemedicine adoption, and team effectiveness in radiotherapy departments. She has held roles in interprofessional eLearning and continues to advocate for patient-centered care through innovative educational frameworks.
