Cohen Nili is a prominent legal scholar and academic leader. She has served as President of the Israel Academy of Sciences and Humanities since 2015, and held key administrative roles at Tel-Aviv University, including Rector (1997–2001) and Pro-Rector (2001–2005). A faculty member at the Faculty of Law, Tel-Aviv University (1979–2015), her scholarship focuses on Comparative Law, Contract Law, and Private Law.
Her research contributions include seminal works like Contracts (Vol. 1) and studies on legal theory and practice. She has been honored with multiple awards, including the Israel Prize in Law Research (2017) and the Benno Gitter Chair in Comparative Contract Law (2002). She is an Honorary Professor at the University of Buenos Aires and received an Honorary Doctorate from Haifa University (2018).
