Clifford Fitzmorris is an Assistant Professor at the Gallogly College of Engineering, University of Oklahoma. He teaches core courses in Electrical and Computer Engineering, including Introduction to Digital Design, Circuits I, Circuits Lab, and the Senior Capstone Design Course.
- Education: B.S. in Electrical Engineering (1988), M.S. in Electrical Engineering (1994), both from the University of Oklahoma
Research Interests include engineering education, qualitative research methodologies, and specialized work in mixed signal circuits, low noise voiceband telephone circuits, firmware development, and lightning mitigation systems for critical infrastructure.
Industry Experience spans 16 years at Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technologies, where he designed embedded controller circuit boards and mixed signal voiceband interface circuits. His notable achievements include creating the SPQ401 circuit card (sold over 100,000 units) and a fleet-wide lightning mitigation system for the National Weather Service's WSR-88D Doppler radar.
