Associate Professor Clemence Due is a researcher at the University of Adelaide's School of Psychology, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. Her work focuses on the health and wellbeing of marginalized/vulnerable populations, particularly refugees, migrants, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and bereaved families.
Her research includes:
- MRFF-funded projects on mental health for youth with refugee backgrounds ($800k) and LGBTQIA+ care ($700k)
- ARC Discovery Project on vicarious trauma for foster carers
- ARC Linkage Project on wellbeing and technology in performing arts
- Cross-cultural bereavement care for under-researched groups (men, grandparents, refugees)
- Maternity/postnatal care for refugee/migrant populations
- Resettlement factors affecting health outcomes for asylum seekers
- Wellbeing in gender/sexuality diverse refugee/migrant communities
Scientific recognition includes:
- 2016 Vice Chancellor's Award for Women's Excellence in Research
- 2019 Barbara Kidman Fellowship
She supervises higher-degree research students and requires DSCI clearance for projects involving vulnerable populations. Current projects explore:
