Claudia Wiesner

Claudia Wiesner is a Researcher at the University of Leipzig, serving as Head of the Service Group for Mass Spectrometry within the Faculty of Chemistry and Mineralogy. She leads the Mass Spectrometry Core Facility, supporting university and external research through analytical services since 2006. Her work centers on method development for life sciences, integrating mass spectrometry with chromatographic techniques like GC-MS and HPLC-MS.

• Full member of the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) Halle-Jena-Leipzig since 2022
• Collaboration with Prof. Anja Widdig (Behavioral Ecology) since 2012

Research Focus: Structural elucidation of biological samples, ionization techniques in mass spectrometry, and volatile analysis in primate body odor. Her group develops specialized methods for interdisciplinary projects in life sciences.

Teaching Contributions: Conducts seminars and practical courses on mass spectrometry at bachelor's, master's, and postgraduate levels, including courses in the "Analytics and Spectroscopy" and "Toxicology and Environmental Protection" programs.
