Claudia Virdun

Claudia Virdun is an Adjunct Fellow at University of Technology Sydney's Faculty of Health and Senior Research Fellow at Queensland University of Technology. As a specialist palliative care nurse, her research optimizes care for patients with advanced serious illnesses across healthcare settings. Her doctoral work focused on enabling optimal inpatient palliative care.

Her research examines palliative care delivery models, needs assessment methodologies, and quality improvement strategies. She leads projects on measuring patient experiences and strengthening nursing leadership in healthcare systems. Current grants include adapting patient experience measurement tools and improving palliative care through nursing leadership in Australian hospitals.

Virdun teaches undergraduate courses in Nursing Care of Older Persons and Palliative Care fundamentals, bridging clinical expertise with academic research.
