معرفی
Claudia Keitel is a Senior Lecturer in Plant Science at the University of Sydney's School of Life and Environmental Sciences, affiliated with the Sydney Institute of Agriculture and the Centre for Carbon, Water and Food. Her research focuses on plant physiology, stable isotope analysis, and environmental impacts on plant and soil systems.
Education: Claudia earned a Biology diploma from the University of Freiburg, a Postgraduate Diploma in Science from the University of Otago, and completed her PhD at Freiburg University on isotope signatures in trees. She held postdoctoral fellowships at the Australian National University and the University of New South Wales before joining the University of Sydney in 2008.
Research Interests: Her work explores carbon and nitrogen cycling, soil microbial dynamics, plant responses to environmental stress, and sustainable agricultural practices. She uses isotopic techniques to study plant-soil-atmosphere interactions and has contributed to biochar analysis methodologies.
Grants: Recent projects include investigating Australian indigenous grains' food potential (2025) and soil organic matter dynamics (2024). She leads multidisciplinary teams addressing climate resilience in crops and soil health.
Labs/Teams: She contributes to the Sydney Institute of Agriculture and collaborates with global research networks on environmental and agricultural challenges.
