معرفی
Dr. Bahareh Bicharanloo is an Associate Lecturer in the School of Agriculture, Food and Wine at the University of Adelaide, within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. Her research focuses on soil biogeochemistry and plant-soil interactions, particularly employing stable isotope techniques to study carbon allocation pathways and their impacts on soil nutrient cycling. She has pioneered a novel ¹³C pulse-labelling method to quantify rhizodeposition contributions to soil respiration under varying environmental conditions. Her work addresses critical questions in agroecology, including nitrogen and phosphorus dynamics, mycorrhizal symbiosis, and the effects of defoliation and fertilization on carbon sequestration.
Her research spans topics such as root exudation mechanisms, microbial carbon use efficiency, and the interplay between plant physiology and soil processes. Dr. Bicharanloo is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD students in these areas. Her interdisciplinary approach bridges soil science, plant biology, and ecosystem ecology, with a focus on sustainable agricultural practices and global change impacts.
Key themes in her publications include carbon-nitrogen-phosphorus cycling, rhizosphere interactions, and the development of advanced isotopic methodologies. She has contributed to understanding how nutrient availability and environmental stressors influence belowground carbon dynamics, with implications for both natural ecosystems and managed agricultural systems.
