معرفی
Claude Jaupart is a Professor of Geophysics at Paris Diderot University and affiliated with the Institute of Earth Physics (IPGP) since 2004. He previously served as Chairman of IPGP (1999-2004) and held professorial roles at Université Paris 7 (1985-1999) and Bristol University (1990-1991). His academic career began at CNRS (1981-1985).
- PhD in Geophysics from MIT (1981)
Research Interests:
Jaupart's work focuses on geophysics, volcanology, heat flow dynamics, and fluid mechanics in Earth systems. His studies address planetary thermal evolution, magma generation, lithospheric stability, and mantle convection.
Publication Trends:
His articles explore thermal modeling of continental lithosphere, magma degassing mechanisms, Archean geodynamics, and volcanic processes, with a strong emphasis on mantle-crust interactions, planetary cooling, and fluid dynamics in geosystems.
Scientific Honors:
- Holmes Medal (2007)
- Wager Medal (1993)
- Prestwich Medal (1999)
- Fellow of AGU (1998)
- Member of French Academy of Sciences (2009)
Additional Contributions:
Jaupart has delivered prestigious lectures (Daly, Ketin, Birch Lectures) and authored key reference works including Heat Generation and Transport in the Earth (Cambridge University Press, 2010) and chapters in the Treatise on Geophysics. His research integrates field studies with theoretical models to advance understanding of Earth's internal processes.
