Clare Egan is a Senior Lecturer in Medieval and Early Modern Literature at Lancaster University. Her research examines drama, performance, and spectatorship in early modern England, with emphasis on provincial libels under James I. Additional research explores ecocriticism, communal responses to environmental crises like the Little Ice Age, and the circulation of disinformation.
She teaches undergraduate courses on medieval literature, Shakespeare, and Renaissance-Restoration drama, plus specialized modules on medieval self-performance and early modern ecocriticism.
