Claire Demesmay is a political scientist and visiting professor at Saarland University during the 2023 summer semester and 2023/2024 winter semester. She is an associate researcher at the Centre Marc Bloch and heads the "Intercultural Education and Training" unit at the Franco-German Youth Office. Previously, she led France/Franco-German Relations programs at the German Council on Foreign Relations (DGAP) until 2021 and worked at the French Institute for International Relations (IFRI) from 2002–2009.

In 2024, she published a groundbreaking study analyzing Franco-German families in Paris/Berlin, emphasizing mobility and cultural integration in European identity formation.
She holds a doctorate in political philosophy from Université Sorbonne – Paris 4 and the Technical University of Berlin, along with a habilitation in German studies.
