Dr. Cindy Peltier is Associate Professor at Nipissing University's Schulich School of Education with cross-appointments in Arts and Science. She holds a PhD from Laurentian University and specializes in Indigenous health education and community-based research.
Her research investigates:
- Integrating Anishinaabe knowledge systems in health/education
- Cultural safety in healthcare services
- Community-driven research methodologies
- Traditional healing practices
Dr. Peltier leads several CIHR-funded projects including a $1.5M study on Indigenous mental wellness and a $100K catalyst grant on collaborative care models. She has produced documentary films on Indigenous experiences and developed educational resources for working with Indigenous communities.
