Dorothy Larkman is Assistant Professor and Interim Director of the School of Social Work at Nipissing University. A member of Matachewan First Nation, her teaching and research center on Indigenous perspectives in social work, particularly the ethic of non-interference in relationship building.
Education includes:
- Ph.D. Candidate at University of Waterloo
- M.S.W. from Wilfrid Laurier University
- B.S.W. from Laurentian University
Research collaborations examine early-onset dementia in northern Indigenous populations. With 24+ years of social work experience, her practice spans child welfare, community organization, and healing initiatives.
