Cindy Berry is a tenured Professor and Undergraduate Associate Dean at the Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing (MSSON) within the College of Health Sciences at Samford University. She holds a DNP from the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), alongside certifications as a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) and Certified in Orientation and Indoctrination (COI).
Dr. Berry's clinical expertise focuses on critical care of adult trauma and burn patients. Her academic career spans over 20 years at MSSON, where she has taught courses such as Pathophysiology, Pharmacology, and Principles of Critical Care. She previously served as Samford University's Emergency Readiness Coordinator (2016–2018).
Her research emphasizes student success, interprofessional simulation, and emergency preparedness. She is actively involved with professional organizations like the Alabama State Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society.
Dr. Berry has received notable awards, including the 2021 Lamplighter Award and the 2016 Cindajo Overton Excellence in Teaching Award. Her recent presentations highlight innovations in nursing education policy and student assessment strategies.
