Ellen B. Buckner is a Professor at Samford University’s Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing, with over 40 years of experience as a nurse educator. She specializes in interprofessional education, honors education in nursing, and the application of the Roy Adaptation Model to chronic illness management, while also advancing frontline nurse engagement through shared governance.

Her research focuses on interprofessional education, asthma self-management programs for teens, and nursing leadership frameworks. Her work bridges academic-practice partnerships and honors curriculum development.
Recent publications highlight interprofessional simulation, asthma education, and leadership capacity-building. She has received numerous awards, including Fellowship in the National Academies of Practice (2019) and the Lifetime Achievement in Teaching Award (2005).
