معرفی
Cigdem Issever is a Lead Scientist at DESY (Helmholtz Association), a University Professor at Humboldt University of Berlin, and a Visiting Professor at the University of Oxford. She leads the Particle Physics Group at DESY Zeuthen and chairs the Experimental High Energy Physics Group at Humboldt University. Her research focuses on Dark Matter signatures in LHC collisions involving Higgs bosons decaying into b-quarks, jet reconstruction via machine learning, and non-collider experiments beyond the Standard Model. She pioneered a jet energy reconstruction algorithm at DESY’s H1 experiment, now used in ATLAS. She is also engaged in public outreach through initiatives like the ATLAScraft project in Minecraft.
Education & Career:
- Doctorate in Natural Science (1996–2001), University of Dortmund
- Postdoctoral Researcher at FNAL (CDF experiment) and UC Santa Barbara (2001–2004)
- University of Oxford roles: Departmental Lecturer (2004–2008), University Research Lecturer (2008–2014), Professor of Particle Physics (2014–2019), Tutorial Fellow (2015–2019)
- Since 2019: Helmholtz Distinguished Professorship, DESY Lead Scientist, and Oxford Visiting Professor
Research Expertise: Expert in jet reconstruction/calibration, Higgs boson identification, quantum technologies for particle detection, and cosmic-ray air shower analysis. Current projects include improving experimental techniques for LHC data and designing non-collider experiments for new physics.
