Chunping Liu

Chunping Liu is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Nottingham Business School, Nottingham Trent University. Since September 2024, she has served as the Director of Doctoral Programmes, overseeing doctoral education and fostering research initiatives. She is also the Editor-in-Chief of Economic Issues (AJG 1*, ABDC B) and an External Examiner at London South Bank University (Sep/2024-now).

• Research Focus: Developing and Emerging Economies, Macroeconomic Modelling (housing markets, banking sector, central bank policies, energy sector), Firm-Level Performance, Corporate Social Responsibility, and the Global Wellbeing and Resilience Index.
• Teaching: Macroeconomics and Econometrics, including Level 6 Econometric Methods and Macroeconomic Issues and Policy.
• Leadership & Editorial Roles: Director of Doctoral Programmes (2024-present), Editor-in-Chief of Economic Issues (2023-present), and Associate Editor roles since 2016.
• External Activities: External Examiner for London South Bank University (2024-present), External Speaker Coordinator (2017-2019), and Research Ethics Reviewer at her institution (2023-2024).

Her work has appeared in highly-rated journals such as the Journal of Banking & Finance and International Journal of Finance & Economics. She actively supervises undergraduate and postgraduate research projects and welcomes PhD applications in her areas of expertise.
