Christopher Wylde

Dr. Christopher Wylde is a Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at St Mary’s University, serving as Subject Lead for Research within the School of Law and Society. He holds a PhD from the University of Leeds (2010) and has held academic positions at institutions including Richmond, the American International University in London, and the University of York. His research focuses on the political economy of development in post-crisis states, particularly Argentina and Latin America, with a theoretical emphasis on developmental regimes and post-neoliberalism.

Education: PhD in Politics from the University of Leeds (2010), funded by an ESRC 1+3 studentship, focusing on post-crisis Argentine political economy (2003–2007).

Publications include two monographs: Latin America After Neoliberalism: Developmental Regimes in Post-Crisis States (2012) and Emerging Markets and the State (2018, short-listed for the BISA-IPEG Annual Book Prize). He co-edited The Handbook of South American Governance (2017) and Argentina Since the 2001 Crisis (2014). Current projects include a manuscript on power dynamics in the Americas and theoretical analysis of post-neoliberal frameworks.
